This is the first version of RTCW, also you install this version first. This version of RTCW has a lot of bug and glitches. To fix bugs and glitches you've to download new patches. Those patchs even change the version of your game, so if you install any other patch then the version of your game will be changed and you'll see completly different servers, modifications and so on.
1.31
This is the first patch of RTCW, this version also known as GoTY (Game of The Year). This name because RTCW has been voted for the best of 2001. This patch includes many bug fixes and also new maps.
1.33
This is the second patch of RTCW, it hasn't got many changes, but it fixes many bugs that couldn't be fixed in version 1.31. So it's consider as a re-fix. This version called Director's Edition.
1.41
This is the final patch of RTCW, the developer of the game tried to put as much bug fixes as they could. They did an excellent job, therefore there aren't any newer patch after this one. Also this patch brought new maps. The most of the competitions in the past been played on this version.
